Chief Officer – Bulk Carrier

Contract: 4 m on / 4 m off
Sailing area: Worldwide

Head of the engine department, reporting to the Master and the Company. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant running of all machinery on board, in line with SOLAS, MARPOL and ISM.

Requirements:

• At least 3 contracts as Chief Engineer on bulk carriers
• Experience with MAN B&W MC or ME engines
• Valid STCW III/2 Chief Engineer CoC and all required certificates

Characteristics & skills:

• Main engine, generators and auxiliary machinery management
• ME electronic control / MC conventional systems
• PMS, spare parts and stores planning
• Bunkering, fuel management and MARPOL Annex VI compliance
• Fault-finding, repairs and dry-dock preparation
• PSC, vetting and class survey readiness
• Leadership, training and safety culture in the engine team
• Reporting and communication with the Technical Superintendent
